ENC ENERGY
The origins of the ENC Group date back to 2003, the year in which the company ENC – Consultancy and Energy Services, Lda. was founded by a group of entrepreneurs with a background in engineering and strong, recognised expertise in the energy sector.
Focused on providing renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency services, ENC has specialised in the biogas sector, which constitutes its core business. The group’s sustained growth has involved the creation of new business units and entry into new markets. “Our growth trajectory and the increase in our workforce led us to seek a head office in a prime location that would, on the one hand, offer flexibility in terms of space to allow us to adapt quickly to our development, and, on the other, access to infrastructure with the shared services we required”, as stated by Jorge Matos, CEO of ENC. He added: “At INOVAGAIA, we found the conditions we were looking for to enable our team to grow sustainably and develop new business opportunities.” The process of internationalisation into the Brazilian market, which began in 2011, was a key step that enabled the group to increase its competitiveness, particularly within the Biogas & Water division. Market dynamics led to a related diversification strategy, which resulted in the creation of the Heat & Power and Waste Valorisation divisions, consolidating the group’s position as a technology leader in the environmental sector and contributing to sustainable development. Our management challenges include, amongst other things, maintaining a strong culture of innovation that ensures the provision of high-quality services, whilst striving to overcome the typical difficulties faced by SMEs in an increasingly dynamic environment.
